Testimonies 2009 - February
Lola
Hi
Suzanne,
Lola and I are doing very well. She is
such a snuggle bug when she is not
running around like a mad woman. I think
she only comes with two speeds. I wanted
to send you some pictures, bc she is
growing up so fast! Enjoy!
Yeah She
actually fell asleep like this.
she was walking and then just stopped
for a quick nap. HA.

Sir
Bentley Fuzzpants
Bene is one year old today! I can
hardly believe that Coleman, Cluseau
and I have made it through alive! He
is a wall bouncing, brother bashing,
computer destroying monster. We love
him just the way he is. He is short
and compact. He isn’t over weight
but he has a little bitty hang down.
His whiskers and his eyebrows are
curly. I can see Stormy’s blue
coloration along his back and
Ophelia’s red on his haunches. He
doesn’t make a sound until he’s put
into a carrier to go to the vet.
Then he screams bloody murder and
its pure anger. He still walks like
a show dog. He and Cluseau both go
into a coma 4-6 hours a day. He has
stopped stealing food but he loves
to push the silver and the chargers
onto the floor.
I
think we will keep him for another
year. Our revenge will be to get him
kitty of his own.
Thank you for this wonderful sweet
little boy!!
Barb and Coleman Smith and battered
big brother Cluseau
Bene in his coma on his heating
pad.
I tried to get a picture of his
“Mastadon Tusks” I hope you can see
them
After your E-mail I weighed him and
he only weighs 6 pounds. His little
face has unfolded somewhat but as
you can see he still has that little
bad boy look.
He
sleeps under the bed at night when
he bothers to sleep at night. He
really enjoyed pushing the Christmas
trees over the wall into the
atrium!!!
Magnus
Hi Suzanne.
Just some updates pictures of
Magnus. He will be 3 years old in
May.
He is still wonderful, and
wakes me up every morning with a
soft paw punching me in the face.
Have to keep his nails short -
even though he is gentle and keeps
them retracted! If you have not
seen it already, check out "Simon's
cat" on Utube - hilarious link about
a cat waking his person up.

He enjoys his daily routine. As you
can tell from the pictures, one of
his fav activities is taking naps.
He is our pride and joy!
Britt and Brian in New Orleans, LA
QuincyHi Suzanne, Just wanted to send you a quick
update on Quincy. He turned 7
months yesterday and is doing
wonderful! I have enclosed a
couple pictures for you to see
how handsome he is! I would
like to ask you a question. I
am feeding him 4 times a day;
breakfast, lunch, dinner and
bedtime. All his meals combined in a
day = one can of wet food (5.5
oz) mixed with one third of a
cup of dry. Do you think I am
over feeding him? He finishes
all of his meals with the
exception of his lunch.
Sometimes he only eats a little
or sleeps thru it. I have
been trying to wean him off of
lunch but some days he thinks he
is starving. He looks
healthy to me and is active.
I am not sure of his weight, he
hasn't been to my vet lately.
But is the amount of food or how
often I am feeding him
excessive? I would
appreciate your opinion.
I am patiently watching your
web site for Quincy's future
friend. Any blues or
blue&white coming soon?

Chester and Precious
My two kids are doing great.
They play and sleep together and
they are just beautiful, thank
you again for raising and
breading such wonderful pets.
I saw the little black kittens
and I am still thinking about a
black male to go with my two.
How much are the black ones. I
think a total of three kids are
going to be my limit.
Good Morning,
Chester and Precious are doing
great. They both are growing and
Precious has warmed up a lot. Both
of them continue to sleeping on the
bed with me and that is just
wonderful. Precious lays down by
the side of me and Chester sleeps on
a pillow by my head and pats me on
my face when he wants me to wake
up. On the weekends the three of us
take a nap in the afternoon, I think
I am making lazy kittens out of
them. Precious does hold her on
with him now and runs after him when
she has had enough.
Which would work the best with the
two that I have a female or a male
if I decide to add a kitten? I
would love to have one more and
black is what I wanted. I know
these two little ones really deposit
a lot in the litter box. I have
started emptying it twice a day. I
like for them to have a nice clean
place to go all the time with no
smell. Do you know of a brand of
litter box that makes and extra
extra large litter box that has a
partial cover on it?
Thank you for your time and I always
enjoy hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Michael
Chester still runs everywhere. I do
not think he knows how to walk, only
run. He is still the first one at
the door, first one to come to me
and the first one to jump up on the
bed when I lay down. Currently he
sits on the commode top while I am
getting dressed in the bathroom and
after I have finished so he gets my
attention he lays in the sink and
look up at me. He has enough energy
for two kittens. He is a hand full,
but I love the attention he gives me
so it is a win win for both of us.
My little girl is such a sweet one
and wants to get as close to me as
possible when its bedtime.
Good Morning,
Wanted to give you an update on
how the kids are doing They
seem to have adjusted well and
enjoying their new home.
Chester does chase the female a
lot and she hisses shows her
teeth, ears laid back and the
hair on her back stand up then
they grab each other and start
clawing. So far no one has
received any injuries, but I
thought I would ask is this
normal and when could I expect
for this to slow down? I just
do not want one of them to hurt
the other one. Chester wants to
lie on my head and neck all the
time when we are all in bed
together, he thinks the pillow
behind me is his place to
sleep. My little one lies
beside me and sleeps all night.
They have already brought a lot
of joy to my life.
Michael
Yetie
Yetie is settling in real
good. She can’t get enough
of windows!! She wants to
sleep on my pillow right at
the top of my head!! J
Joyce
Thanks for the
information on
the shots...I
took it by my
vet
yesterday....she
wasn't in but
their going to
look into
getting that
type.
Oregon is a
little wetter
than where I
lived before up
in Anacortes,
WA....but
believe I'll get
used to it.....I
live in Lincoln
City, OR, which
is considered
north central
OR...on the
coast...It's an
awesome
ocean....the
beaches are all
public and state
parks so you
don't have the
development
associated with
paces like CA
and FL. One big
wildlife
preserve....
I have one more
question...and I
don't mean to
trouble you for
professional
advice...but
since you raise
the breed as
well as care for
them I can't
think of anyone
else better to
ask...It's been
my experience so
far, that when
it comes to
British
Shorthairs most
know little more
than their a
pretty furry
purebred. Most
of my
education has
come from the
Cat Magazine and
the Internet....
I have Bogart
and another 5
yr. old male
Brit
(Spooks)....Awhile
back I took
Spooks in to
the Vet for some
bloody
stools...We had
recently moved
up here and
there were food
changes
etc.....He was
not sick and
healthy
otherwise ...so
it was
determined to be
change
related....He
still has this
even now off an
on...
Recently I've
noticed Bogart
has the same
thing...Fresh
blood spots on
his rear end
after a
poop...He also
is healthy and
no changes in
his routine
other than
a fresh bag of
Iams Chicken was
started this
weekend.
I'm just curious
if this is
something common
with the breed
because neither
seem bothered
and I've talked
with my Vet
previously about
this subject
with Spooks.
Any information
you may have
would be
appreciated....
If I ever get
the room for
another
one...I'll be
calling...looked
at your website
the other day
..that cream and
blue male was
adorable...what
a bully boy he's
going to
be...and they
are ...
Bogart, even
though neutered,
still challenges
my 23 lb. black
Brit to take
down
matches...which
are lopsided but
spirited....
Thanks for your
time...
Take care,
Leigh

Bertrand
No kidding! I love it though. I really
understand what other BSH owners mean
now by being supervised. He has even
followed me into the shower! He likes to
watch the computer too as I type, even
contributing to this email. Thank
goodness for spell-check. He really is
the sweetest cat ever. My parents are
"dog people" and have made me promise
that God forbid anything ever happens to
me that they get Bertrand, no kidding!
They are absolutely in love with him,
and I think if my mom gets her way she
will get one for herself within the
year. Bertrand met their dogs which
earned him the name "sheriff" as he had
the full run of their house before we
left.
Suzanne, thanks so much for everything.
Bertrand is worth every penny and more.
I literally get compliments from folks
everyday that see him on how cute he is
and how great he is around others
including children.
You truly do get what you pay for.
Should you ever need a testimonial,
though I am sure there would be no
shortage, I would be ecstatic to give
one as words cannot truly describe my
satisfaction with Bertrand.
I attached another picture for you.
I am quite sure that everyone says they
have the cutest kitten pic, however I
think mine ranks at the very least in
the top 10.
Enclosed for your viewing pleasure.
Please take note of Bertrand's tongue.
Thanks again,
John
Hope this email finds you well. He is a
joy and is curious and outright crazy at
times. I think you might be getting some
requests from Atlanta before too long as
he has fans now. When I have more time I
will tell you about some of his antics
including his dumpster diving at
midnight. He is a joy, and the best
roommate I have ever had. I am not sure
how I ever got along without him! His
supervision is second to none! Thanks
Suzanne for all you did.
Gus
Here's another. Courtney dressed him up
for Christmas.
Thanks to my daughter, Gus also has his
own Facebook page.
Thanks again!
Hi Suzanne!
Been meaning to write and thank
you again for Gus. He has turned
out to be an amazing addition to
our family. Everyone who meets
him is impressed with his
personality and his striking
appearance.
Most importantly, Jack and
Courtney just love him. Gus'
ability to deal with Jack's
sometimes less-than-typical play
is extraordinary. He is the
perfect therapy cat! And,
something I've never seen
before. We've taught him to play
fetch. You sure he doesn't have
some golden retriever genes?
So -- thank you again! Our
family will always be grateful
for your generosity.
Photos attached.
Hope things are going well with
you.
Take care,
Robert, Courtney and Jack
Tavey and Fergus
Tavey and Fergus at 18
months.
They are such wonderful cats.
Hi Suzanne,
I thought I would update you on
Tavey and Fergus. They are now about
18 months old. We went to the vet
yesterday for a check up. All is
well. Fergus weighs 11.5 pounds and
Tavey is 9.5 pounds. The vet here
said that they are such ambassadors
for their breeds. Both take
everything in stride. They are
loving and playful and spoiledJ.
Thanks for our wonderful “kids”.
I sent a picture separately.

Stormy Blu
Hi Suzanne,
Stormy Blue is
doing great. I thought you would
enjoy this photo -
definitely a
different perspective!

Charlotte and Nigel
Hi Suzanne,
I just thought I’d pass along the
attached. I wasn’t fast enough with
my camera to get Nigel and Charlotte
wrestling, which is what they were
doing before I took this image.
Anyway, Charlotte is thriving and Nigel really likes her even though she’s
too energetic for an old man like
him. My husband bought her a nice
crystal collar which she adores!
Best wishes,
Shelley
Hi Suzanne,
Charlotte and
Nigel have met. Nigel went right up
to her and touched her nose, but she
hissed and arched her back. They
follow each other around, but C does
stay at a safe distance for the time
being. I think they’re going to get
along fine.
Charlotte
hasn’t eaten a lot since she has
been there, except for a half a can
of Iam’s wet food for kittens. She
has only nibbled at the dry food.
I’m hoping she’ll eat something when
she gets used to things. I’m not
sure whether I should be worried or
not! At the moment, she’s busy
exploring the house.
I’m sending in
the CFA and microchip registration
forms this afternoon!
Thanks again,
Shelley
I just wanted to drop you a line
to say that all is well with
Charlotte. Her surgical wound
has completely healed, she’s
eating very well, and she and
Nigel are getting along
beautifully. Nigel doesn’t have
a lot of energy because of his
age, but he is very accepting
and warm toward Charlotte. I
think she has grown some in the
week she has been here. Because
my husband is disabled, uses a
heavy electric wheelchair, and
is afraid of accidentally
running over her (she is
everywhere and every place at
once), we will continue to keep
her in her own room at nights
and when I’m out of the house
until she gets a little bigger.
But otherwise, she’s finding her
favorite places, especially my
desk where I work.
When I get a decent picture of
Charlotte, and especially
Charlotte and Nigel together,
I’ll be sure to send it along.
Best wishes and thanks,
Shelley
Soprano and Kasumi
Hi, it's Soprano's and Kasumi's
human!
I'm going to send you a longer email
with news about Soprano and pictures
of him sleeping with his new big
sister, Kasumi. Everything is going
well, they are so cute together.
I had a quick question. Tonight they
were playing and jumping around, and
Soprano got one of his canines
broken at the gum line. It is kind
of scary and I was thinking of
taking him to the vet tomorrow. I
was wondering if it was maybe a baby
tooth? I read on the internet that
cats have their baby teeth until
they are 6 months old, and since
he's 5 months old...
The tooth appears hollow in the
middle, and without any root. I
tried to check if the root was still
in the gum but he wasn't very
cooperative. Do you have any advice
until his trip to the vet?
Thank you so much!
Sabrina
(note:
Soprano lost his baby tooth which is
normal at his age)
Pumpkin Spice
Hi Suzanne,
We took Pumpkin Spice for
winners ribbons this past
weekend in New Jersey. She
took best of breed in one
ring over 3 other Brits...as
an open.
Ripley got his winners
ribbons right along side
her. He took breed in other
rings as an open and even
made a final.

Buster (Buddy)
Hi Suzanne -
Buddy (Buster isn't fitting him, at
least for now) is doing great. He's
really come out of his shell and is
so loving and affectionate, even
with our 4 year old. Here are some
photos from today. He's a very happy
engaging little guy.

Hi
Suzanne -
Well, Buster arrived
yesterday evening, right on
schedule. He just wanted to
hide last night which we
expected so we let him know
where the feeding station
and litter tray was and let
him be. I got up early this
morning to spend some time
with him by myself and he
was just a love. He seems
to have spent the night on
an end table covered with a
thick cotton rug we have set
up in the corner of a bay
window behind our couch in
the living room for the cats
to look out the window. He
came right up to me purring
and headbutting - very
affectionate. He's a little
skittish around my daughter
still (but at least isn't
running off to hide from her
any more) but is fine with
my husband.
All in all, he's settling in
very well and seems happy to
be here. He's eating and
using his litter box just
fine.
He's the sweetest little guy
and he's going to be a
cherished member of our
family. Thanks so much for
letting us have him.
I will send you progress
reports and photos from time
to time so you can keep up
with how he's doing. If you
ever want an update, please
just let me know.
Thanks again,
Jennie
Quincy
Hello Suzanne,
I hope all is well with you and your
family. As this seems to be a
"quiet" kitten time for you, I
thought I would ask a question.
Well first off Quincy is doing
great!! He is such a joy! At some
point I think I would like to get
him a friend. I have heard that you
should get the opposite sex. Is
this true? Is there a certain age
that they seem more tolerant of an
addition to the family? I dont want
to do anything that would upset
Quincy or change his personality.
Any thoughts would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks so much, Jeanette

Thanks for all the information, I
will let you know when I see one
that just screams "pick me, pick
me!" Can't wait to see what you
have in store with all those great
colors. You are so popular I will
have to get to your paypal account
lightening quick with a deposit!
Best of luck and talk to you soon!
Hopefully I have attached a new
photo of my main man for you to
view. Jeanette
ASH
Hi Suzanne
Received this beautiful photo of Ash,
she's on vacation at my son as we are
away!
I think she is doing just fine! she is
such a lady!
Best Regards
Geraldine

CHARLOTTE
Hi Suzanne,
I just want
to let you know that I brought
Charlotte home from the airport
about an hour ago. Everything
went very smoothly and it looks
like she survived the trip with
no problems.
She’s
everything you said she is. She
loves to be held and is very
affectionate, although now she
is having the best time playing
with the toys that you sent
along with her. Nigel hasn’t
seen her as yet, but he will
eventually once he wakes up from
his nap.
I also got
the priority box today with all
the helpful stuff in it!
I would
have taken a picture to send to
you, but Charlotte won’t hold
still long enough to get a good
one! Anyway, once I get a good
one, I’ll pass it along.
Once again,
thanks so much. Charlotte is
just wonderful!
Best
wishes,
Shelley
Hi,.JPG)
I got him home about an hour ago, and he
is so adorable. He jumped right out the
carrier, and is exploring the whole
house.
He is so playful, he even played with my hair. He didn't meow on the car
ride home. He is so perfect.
thank you for everything.

APRIL
Hi Dr. Henne,
Dan and I wanted
to give you an update on April since
she is turning 3 this month!
She almost always is waiting at the
door for us when we come home after
work, and loves to jump up on the
couch with us when we watch movies
on the weekends. Her new favorite
thing is to run into the bathroom
and jump up on the sink whenever she
hears water running (I thought cats
were supposed to HATE water??).
Our friends and family still
can't believe what a beautiful and
friendly cat she is! And she has
been great with our other new
addition -- our daughter was born 2
months ago.
At first she was hesitant (I
think the crying scared her!) but
now she will come over and rub her
head on our daughters hands or feet
when she is sitting with us on the
couch.

We still find April in strange
spots around the house -- I think
she likes to make us laugh.
Thanks again for everything!!!
Tara
