FERGUS RELAXING

Barnabas and Quentin

The boys are really beginning to warm up to us now. They are just discovering that there is a door to the bedroom and are getting curious. Think tomorrow I'll let them roam about and explore the living room. Barnabas has turned out to be a little cuddle bug! Now that he feels comfy around us he loves to jump up on the bed for plenty of back rubs and chin scratches.

Here are a couple of pics from last night when they got settled down to sleep. They prefer the cool wood surfaces to sleep on instead of the fleece beds.

They both wound up curled up together on my night stand for most of the night. Quentin woke us up at 9am on the dot for his good morning petting session! They are both very gentle and super sweet not to mention completely adorable, thank you so much again, they really are lighting up our lives here :-) Amy Leigh

Or should I say afternoon? LOL, late night! I've never had two cats who were so quiet and calm on a long car ride, not a peep out of them even though it took awhile to get home in all that traffic. Just our luck, one of the two bridges into NY caught on fire and was closed, and as we were leaving a Mets game was letting out, but no deer! They settled in right away, no problems. I'm keeping them in the master bedroom for now til they get used to us and their new surroundings. Quentin is more outgoing than Barnabas. They are a little skittish because they don't know what to make of us yet, but Quentin came up into the bed with us a few times to roll around and rub against our hands. They spent most of the night exploring the room and they slept in their own little cubby holes. No problems with the litter box, they used it right away, and both ate and drank overnight as well. Right now they are scampering around chasing fake mice, and I think Mike is enthralling them with a laser pen as I write! Think I might have to get a nightlight for the bedroom, Barnabas cried every time we turned off the light, poor baby.
Thanks again so much for these two precious kittens, Amy Leigh

Whoowie, traffic was something else in NY! Just got home now. The kittens are well, arrived safe and sound. Just getting them situated for the night. I'll be home all week-end and have next week off for vacation so I'll be spending plenty of time at home to help get them settled in. They are both a couple of sweethearts! Thank-you so much, I'll keep you posted about how they are doing.

AMIRA

Dear Suzanne,

Thank you for the wonderful kitten! I was so surprised when I got home, and I saw Amira. She was a little scared of me though, I think it was because she didn't know me. She's getting more and more used to us, and is less afraid.

She usually naps on my bookshelf, and I put the small rug down, the one that you gave us. She is now eating more, and is hilarious when she is chasing her feather toy. Well, thats all for now!

Hi Suzanne,

Just a short note to let you know all is well.  She was good the whole way on plane, and in car (cried a little in the car.)  She is getting used to all of us and didn't really need a safe room by herself-actually cries if she is by herself.

Loves to chase her feather stick and loves her cat tree house.  She has only eaten a couple of bites for now and some water.  She did use the litter box a couple of times.  Bye for now.

CAPTAIN LOUIE

Hello Suzanne,

Sorry for the delay in reply.  Yes, he's doing great!  We've been doing the wet food twice a day, but I guess we still have a couple questions about it.  He seems to only eat about a spoon scoopful at each sitting.....is that about right?  The first time we fed him the wet food, we put a couple spoonfuls down, but he left a lot of it.  So he's been eating pretty much all of the single spoonful since then.  Also, we tried to get a different variety of the Friskies(adult cat, right?) wet food, but when we opened the salmon flavor, we noticed that there were some small bones in it so we didn't give him that.....we didn't even think about bones being in the food.....should we stay away from all seafoods for now or is salmon the only one that would have bones?

He's eating the dry food all throughout the day, but he doesn't eat very much of it at each sitting.  What weight should he be at right now?  We decided to call him Captain Louie!  :-)  Thank you again.....we love him so much!

Sorry for the delay in writing you.  We got home a few hours ago, but we have been so busy playing with him!  He slept pretty much the entire car ride home.  It only took him a few minutes to come out of the carrier and start exploring when we got him home.  He is such a joy and we want to thank you so much for raising such a sweet and loving kitten!  He loves rubbing his face up against ours already!  He is so perfect and adorable!!!

When you give him wet Friskies, do you mix it in with the dry?  Also, is it not good to leave dry food out all the time?...should we only give it to him at feeding time?

Thank you so much,
Hillary & Chris

Hello we are in the car going home now. Just wanted to let you know we got him

Everything went so great. He Is perfect!  Thank you so much. We will write more when we get home.

BURLEIGH

Suzanne:

Here are the latest pix of an ever-growing Burleigh. He is a delight to have around; very sweet and gentle. But full of trouble. (Note the picture of kitten in a flower pot.) He and Camden are great friends, and its fun to watch them wrestle around.

By the way, Burleigh loves his orange mousey. Camden used to have a purple mousey just like it but it is in tatters. I have searched all over to find others just like these, but can't find them.

Do you know where I can get them? I'd buy a dozen if I could find them.

My final question. What do you use to give Burleigh a bath? What kind of shampoo? It smelled really nice when I picked him up, and although I don't anticipate bathing him often, I'd like to know what that was. I might even use it on Camden, who requires a bath every three months.

Thanks for all your help.

Jill

NATASHA

Suzanne

Natasha,s flight  to Ohio was quite enjoyable. She received a lot of attention, but was eager to get out of the carrier toward the end of the journey. She has adjusted very quickly to home and us. We just love her and she loves us. We couldn't have found a more wonderful kitty. Thank you for raising such a great kitten.
