Testimonies 2009 - October
WINSTON AND MAGGIE
It's cold and rainy, might as well
get a good "tv" show on and stay in for
the night...

BENTLY
Good Morning Suzanne..... Thanks much
for the great photos of "Bently".....
glad to hear you are looking for some
younger ones... we would love to have
them.
Not sure what you mean by an "official
name".... you mean like, "Sir Bently" or
Sir Bently of ........? Would this work
for your program, if we use the name of
"Sir Bently"? Would like to have an
"official pedigree," .... thanks!
Can appreciate your minimalist take on
vaccinations. Bently will not have
outside exposure to other animals, other
than a vet visit, if needed, or
boarding, if really needed, in the event
of an urgency/emergency, nor will he
ever be permitted go outside.... keeping
him in protected environment of our
home. Smart little fellow.... gives
"leg loves" in the morning....."loves
for food,".... then walks to his bowl
and looks at us, then more "leg loves,"
then looks at his bowl again ....
ritualizing us! Like your "matt"
finished cards (a nice natural look) -
will be interested in seeing the
"glossies." Wanted to tell you...
think your cat shipping system is
really nice. Will be interested to know
more about "official name," so that he
can be entered in your program and have
a pedigree print-out.
Yes! It only took him less then 1
minute to train us - we're under his
spell! The moment a cat walks into your
life, "The Training" begins!
When do you recommend starting his
feline leukemia shots, if at all?
My husband is so-o-o-o taken with him
(as well as I) and he (we) would just
love to have some actual photos of him,
including the several of the ones you
posted on your website. Got your nice
folder today with his shot record and
ancestry chart - going to have to study
it and learn how to read it. We found
it both interesting and amusing to note
on your ancestry chart that there is a
cat with the first name of "Nemesis," as
we've had a cat with that very name and
never imagined we would see that name
given to a cat ever again.
Meant to tell you..... yes! my husband
was so pleasantly surprised, overwhelmed
and pleased! The little guy is so-o-o
affectionate, sweet, and a little
character ...
seems to be adjusting well and is
content. My husband also wants you to
know how very glad we are to have him!
He's doing well. Maybe someday I can
purchase some of his younger kitten
pictures, if there are any? Thanks for
forwarding on the exchanged kitten's
paperwork, shot records, etc. - we'll be
looking for it. And thanks again and
regards, D&D Smith and "Bently" (his new
name.)
Glad you like kitten's name .... noticed
British Shorthairs tend to walk with a
bent (curved) tail, thus "Bently," and
it sounds English. He's fun, so sweet
and we are giving him lots of love.
He's doing good, except we do not
observe him eating his kibbles or
drinking water and not sure what to do
yet? Medicine in fridge. Thanks for
checking your photos for us and for
mailing on his paperwork
Good Morning...... Kitten's arrival went
smooth. You're right he is a little
loving purr-machine! We just love him
..... a cute kitten ... and a
beautiful cat. Airport cargo easier to
get to than I thought .... we arrived
several hours early. Think kitten wore
out his meow-box a little on the way.
Fed Science Diet meat on arrival.... ate
voraciously and he appears to be
adjusting quite well.... a sweety.
Thanks Dr Henne.... regards, ~ D & D

LILY AND LUCY
Hey Suzanne,
Just wanted you to know Lily and I made
it home okay yesterday. She and Lucy
are actually doing well with one another
thus far. They're already playing, and
Lily is currently trying to help me send
this email. :) Tony has an adorable
video of Lily playing with the catnip
ball that we'll send this afternoon or
tomorrow. Hope all is well with you.
Thank you so much for this lovely little
buddy!

SIR BENTLEY
FUZZYPANTS
Bene has hit a growth spurt and is
finally growing into his feet and
magnificent ring tail. He is closer
to 9 pounds than 8 now. He is busy
trashing my yarn stash at the
moment. Cluseau has hidden himself
away hoping Bene won’t find his butt
and bite it. Fat chance!
As
you know Bene means good in Italian.
Bene has not grasped that concept
yet and I really hope he never does.
Best wishes to you and yours

Mama) and Battered Big Brother

WINSTON AND
MAGGIE
Suzanne,
Maggie has settled in really well. She
and Winston get along quite well.
Winston does kick her butt every day,
but she does deserve it.
Wrestling and playing chase is in
program every day
( and no, Winston
has not lost his xtra lbs yet ).
Maggie is
trying to help Winston on his diet by
eating his food. One would imagine that
we starve her, she demands food
non-stop. I am not able to get the
breakfast canned food front of her fast
enough. She get rather verbal on her
demands. She also hoovers down dog food
if available. ( The pups have feeding
times and the cats have x-amount food
available per day. )

Winston, the great
hunter, is teaching her to hunt...quite
a sight. I don't think this teaching is
handy in real world. Winston has not
caught anything in his life.
I haven't had luck with introducing the
pups to Maggie...She stayed under the
bed and the sounds coming out of her was
unreal.
Winston on the other hand is the
happiest "dog" when pups come and play
w/him. Hopefully I can get Maggie to
co-exist w/the pups.
Winston is the gentle giant and Maggie
is rather feisty. She is a lap cat and
now Winston, every blue moon, allows us
to have him on our laps.

They are so different. Winston is the
text book BSH and Maggie is
tiger/terrier mix.
George, the elderly bunny boy, is happy
as he can be; no one bothers him. If he
is fast asleep and doesn't know it, you
can find either Winston or Maggie
snoozing next to him. It is a cute
sight.
It is fun to observe them.
I am trying to capture moments when
Winston&Maggie are relaxing
together...mainly it's been wrestling
moments.
Over all every creature is doing well in
our household.
More updates later on...
Cheers, Tarja.
BURTON, CIELO AND OSITO
Suzanne,
I
cannot believe where the time has
gone. Burton, your first male
retiree, has been with us for almost
2 years now. He turned 8 in July,
but doesn’t act or show his age, but
then neither do any of our boys. He
has had a few health issues but we
have an excellent veterinarian
looking out for him and keeping him
healthy.

The entire veterinarian staff gets
excited whenever my boys come in,
especially Burton because he demands
to be petted by everyone. All
visitors to our home have to touch
them and cannot believe how soft &
dense their fur is. I wish there
was still a large picture of Burton
on your website since some of his
“children” are still in your
breeding program.

Osito, my largest black boy, will be
9 in a couple of weeks. He came to
us as a kitten from Elusive Blue.
He is my gently giant with a very
large “hiss” when he needs to assert
his authority. I am sure you
remember that Cielo is one of yours.
He will be 6 in January. We show
him his mother Vina on your website
as he cruises the desk for
attention.
Cielo
my be the smallest, but he sure
pushes his weight around & can be
very vocal at letting both human and
feline companions know what he is
thinking. He also has both a smile
& pout that he uses to let everyone
know his mood.
I
fully believe the British Shorthair
is one of the best natured cats a
person could ever by “owned” by!
Thanks!
Bobby, Jan, Ostio, Burton & Cielo
GREMLIN, POOF
AND JELLY
Jelly brought a
young mouse up from the basement ( girls
are not allowed down there yet ) and
when she dropped it the girls took over
and pretty well demolished it.. they're
still looking for it after it was thrown
out. Jelly usually lets them go and they
get in the closets. Big Smurf was a good
mouser. Poof put a lump in my throat the
other morning-- I got up from a nap
upstairs and found her sleeping in the
wall-hung lavatory sink where Smurf used
to sleep regularly. They won't come to
us consistently but will crawl all over
you in bed or on one of the couches in
the living room. I was thinking the
other day about offering you $750 to
take Gremlin back <G> She's a garbage
hound and a food mooch. The other day
while I was washing dishes I heard a
thump and looked around to see a gray
tail sticking out of the flip-lid
garbage can in the kitchen. She found a
piece of Cheeto on my shirt the other
day and now she climbs your leg if you
hold a bag of any kind. She eats
broccoli !
an!
d watermelon. Poof has to help me shave
and sling water all over the bathroom. I
call them weasels, but they actually act
like ferrets. Jelly still growls like
crazy but sometimes she's in the
fox-and-hounds chases thru the house (
at least one round before she stops and
growls and slaps a couple of faces ).
Marion & Laura
Will Gremlin outgrow the "porcupine"
hair ?? Poof is as slick as an otter and
is showing signs of a very distinct
raccoon tail and spots on her side that
sort of blend into a fuzzy tabby
pattern.
CHARLOTTE AND
AUSTIN
Hi Suzanne,
I thought you’d like the attached,
evidence that Charlotte and Austin
are having a wonderful time
together. She has now learned to
play gently with him and he adores
her!

By the way, Austin is eating the
dry food as well as the Fancy Feast
that I give him. He has grown
substantially in the two weeks we’ve
had him.
Take care,
Shelley
I have another question, this one about
Charlotte’s reaction to Austin. On the
one hand, she’s curious about him,
sniffs him, and watches him. She even
brought in her favorite toy into our
family room a couple of days ago and
meowed for Austin to come and look. I
thought that things were going very
smoothly. Yet in the last day or two,
she has become pretty aggressive with
him. She chases him and takes him down
to the floor, nips him and then licks
him, all while Austin howls like an NBA
basketball player who is trying to get
the referee to call a foul on his
opponent. Although I don’t think she
wants to hurt him, she does frighten
him. In addition, she seems morose at
times, running away from me and not
eating as much as she normally does. I
know that a period of adjustment is
normal, but I’m wondering if you have
any suggestions about how to ease the
transition?
Here's one that I
took this morning. Charlotte and Austin
are now having fun chasing each other
around!
I hope you got my message the other
night that Austin arrived safe and
sound. We just got your package today
with his papers, medication, etc. He
and Charlotte have gotten to know each
other well enough to nuzzle one another
although Charlotte is not above an
occasional hiss. She follows him around
all the time to keep an eye on him. It
has really been comical to watch them.
They’re going to get along fine.
BINZ
Our Binnie turned 5 yesterday.
It simply doesn't feel like
time passes like this.

BAILEY AND DOOLEY
hello suzanne, bailey and
dooley are doing just great,
they have never had any spat's
get along great with one
another. i am glad we got two of
your kittens at the same time.
their always together, dooely
is the more dominate on, hes
more sure on his feet and is an
excellent jumper, bailey holds
his own, but is just a little
bit smaller in size, for now,
but he,s not quit as agile as
dooley. dooley loves those
mice's we have went thru a five
pack of them all ready, he
chirps and growls when he's
huntin'em. their both eating "a
lot" doing good, they’ve had no
sickness that i,ve noticed, just
the occasionally cruddy eye in
the morning the drops work still
have used very sparingly. all
and all very well behaved
kittens, very active and
cudlelable. take care greg

Nothing like a good nap on a clean
towel!

Hi Suzanne,
It has been awhile since I sent you a
picture of Tavey and Fergus. They are
happy and healthy and spoiled rotten.
We picked them up at the Seattle airport
2 years ago this coming November.
They are such joys.
I really can't picture our life without
them.
These cats have the best dispositions
and personalities of any cat we have
ever had. You do a fantastic job of
breeding exceptional cats.
Thanks for all the joy,
Janet
ELIZA
Hi Suzanne,
I took today off so I could
be with her. Eliza is just
dreamy! What a personality!
She follows me around the
house :). I can't thank you
enough. Are all of your
kittens this sweet???She is
really just
extraordinary! Truly
delightful. Tonight she was
right there to greet me when
I came home from work. I
can't thank you enough.
