BUDDY
Suzanne,

Hi Suzanne -
Thought it was time I sent you an update
on Buddy we adopted back in
February 2009. As you can see from
the photos, he's a wonderfully handsome
boy. Still has his tiger stripes
on his tail. He's a real character
and the most affectionate cat I've ever
known. He and our daughter (now 6)
are best buddies.
He waits for her to get home from school
each day and follows her everywhere.
They're so sweet together.
Anyway, just wanted you to see how he's
doing.
We
have another indoor cat who's 15 now and
at the beginning stages of renal
failure. She has high blood
pressure which led to temporary
blindness that we were able to reverse,
fortunately, with BP meds. The
underlying cause of the BP is the kidney
issue. We're not sure how long she
has left but when it's her time, we'll
definitely be wanting another British
shorthair.
Since Buddy is so wonderfully
socialized, we'll definitely want
another one of yours. It will
serve him right to have a pesky
youngster to bother him after what he
puts our old girl through.
I check in on your site from time to
time to see the new kittens. Just
love your blue and white boy
(Octavious). Do you take
reservations from adoptive families for
your retired cats? If so, would be
very interested in Octavious when the
time comes.
Anyway, just wanted you to see how your
boy is doing.
He's happy and healthy and a complete
pest much of the time but wouldn't have
him any other way.
Hope all is well. Love to all the
kitties.

DAPHNE

I thought you
might want to see a picture of
her. She looks like her mother
and is a very good kitty.

She is
doing
great.
We have
not had
any more
problems.
She is a
sweet
kitty.
Her name
is
Daphne
now, the
kids
could
never
remember
Dutchess.
Thanks
for
checking
on her.

The kitten is doing great, we named her Dutchess. I have a question about her eating. She would not eat when we got home all evening or until 2pm the next day, so I opened the canned food. She loved that but now she still has not touched the dry. Should I give her another can later today or make her wait and eat the dry. I don't want her to get used to the canned, but I didn't want her to go to long without food. also, She has not touched her water either. Is that ok?
Thanks,

HUXLEY
Suzanne,
Huxley is five and a half years old now
and I just cannot put into words how
much he means to me. He is such a big
part of my life. Huxley is full of
personality and is always doing the
funniest things.

He loves to play with his toy mice,
spin out around corners on our hardwood
floors, do balance beam routines on the
headboard of my bed, play in the bathtub
with just a little water running, and
let out what I call "patrol meows" every
night just after I turn out the lights!
He is strictly an indoor cat but
recently we got heavy snow in Dallas so
I had to let him see what the white
stuff is like.
Attached are some pictures of Huxley in
the snow. At first he was probably a
little startled by how cold it made his
paws, but he soon settled down and had
fun watching all of the birds in the
back yard. I'm glad to see you still
have a breeding program. Take care,
Neill Dallas, Texas
BUCKLEY
Hi Suzanne!!
Just wanted to give you an update on
Buckley! He is 2 now and he is
such an awesome addition to our family!!

He acts like a
dog most of the time and loves to chew
on boxes and paper. He loves to eat and
lounge around!!
We
recently had a scare because he got into
the dog biscuits and choked on one. We
have to keep the dog food under lock and
key so Buckley stays out! He loves to
interact with company and has been
caught riding on top of the floor sander
as we had our floors refinished!! He
makes us laugh everyday and we love him
so much!! Thank you from the bottom of
our hearts for such a great addition to
our family!

TIPPER AND TUCKER
Good
Morning,
I have a few (lots) of pictures that I
have been taking as Tipper and Tucker
get closer and closer. They are doing
really good, but still need more time. I
have a question. Tipper has developed
this thing that ever early morning he
comes and gets in bed with me and
cuddles under my chin with his head into
my neck and he starts kneading me and
sucking on my gown that has tiny little
rolled up flowers on it at the neckline.
He will fall asleep there and is purring
really loud. Is this something I should
allow or not allow? I've been allowing
it because it hurts to turn him down.
Give me an opinion.

This is one of
there most favorite place during the
day. I sew in this room and they just
hang with me all day.
We have a bird
feeder on the lower part of the patio
and they can watch the humming birds
feed. There is some mouths chattering at
that. I added a couple of pictures
showing you a close up of Tucker. He has
been so great.
Talk to you in
another few months.

Charles & "The Kids"
In this first set of pictures
87,88,89,90 & 91 The guys are
enjoying their daily dose of plain
yogurt and Tipper finished first (as he
always does) and thought, I'll just see
if I can take over on Tucker without any
fuss and he did.
There
was a time when Tucker would have run
him away. This just happen yesterday.

The next three pictures , 85,83,84 are
showing some of Tippers favorite spots
and then 84 shows Tucker telling Tipper
"Don't mess with me". These were taken a
few days ago on the 15th of Feb.

I've said it before, but I'll say it
again. What a wonderful job you did on
Tipper. There isn't a day goes by that
we don't say to each other: "Isn't he a
wonderful Cat"!
I'll send the other five pictures next
e-mail.
EMERSON
Well I finally have time to
write and let you know how our boy is
getting along. It is like having a
terrible two year old around--while
awake he is a holy terror--and so
precious while asleep.
He loves the laundry
basket, hiding that is and being
discovered as I put clothes in the
washer. Loves the mastiff now--rubs all
against her legs.
Plays well , too well with
the other cats-- I will start
introducing him to the mixture of
vinegar water spray bottle for when he
tries to get on top of kitchen table or
counters or tries to climb up fabric
lamp shades. Can jump vertical like a
jack rabbit.
Loves to sit on the edge of
the tub while I am taking a shower and
be a voyeur. Likes to jump in the tub
when I am finished and play with the
water drops coming out of the faucet.
He is a pistol and a peach.
Love him to death. Right now going to
take him to bed with me--the cats will
play and terrorize me until they figure
out it is time to sleep with the Mom.
It looks like he has a
little runny nose, just dirt looking
crust on the edges--but his lungs sound
good--when I can get him to turn off the
motor--any thing I need to do??
That fills you in--let me
know .
Are the other siblings
adjusting well??

GREMLIN, POOF AND JELLY
Hi,
Gremlin has mellowed to the point
of climbing my leg only on rare
occasions--now she sits on the floor and
if I don't drop a crumb or leftovers
plate she'll reach up and hook a single
claw into my knee. Jelly doesn't get
yogurt or ice cream any more because
there's a gray head in the way. You can
hypnotize either one with a spoon. Poof
has turned out to be Beelzebub revealed.
She follows Jelly everywhere and I have
to corral her if Jelly wants to use the
litterbox or eat. I spread my legs ,
bend over and sweep my arms in front of
her to keep her back--and she'll rear up
and slap at me to try to get past.
Lately, all I have to do is point a
finger at her and she'll run over to
slap me. She eats cardboard every chance
she gets and they both will beat you to
the bathroom to get a stream of water
from the tub spout.

OLLIVER (OLLIE)
We are still
calling him Oliver (Olli) it seems to
fit him very well. Mom loves him and our
other cat is beginning to tolerate him
as well.
Regards
John
He is an
amazing little boy. Lots of fun and very
lovable. He seems as if you spoiled him
even before he got here. We do like him
very very much. He fits right in at our
home.
ARTHUR AND BELLAMY
They will now both sit together on my lap in the
evening. Arthur plays with Bellamy's
tail and she usually lets him. They are
becoming friends and settling into the
household routine. Both are sweet,
playful and smart.
They are tolerating each
other. Arthur no longer seems to
feel like he needs to hiss & swipe at
Bellamy, maybe because she got him back
a couple times. They are funny
because they both keep trying each
others things like food, litter box.
If one jumps up on your lap the other
comes up too just to make sure the other
doesn't get more attention.
Suzanne, I'm glad we
got to meet yesterday. The kitties
are adapting well but each of them would
rather be an only child at this point.
I admit Arthur started it with swiping
at Bellamy a couple times so now she's
had enough and just swiped back.
Arthur appears oblivious to the fact he
is in new surroundings and loves
exploring. Bellamy is definitely
more apprehensive but still, is doing
well considering the long trip, new
surroundings and adapting to Arthur.
Both are peeing in their separate litter
boxes but no one has pooped yet and
Bellamy is gassy. Is this all
normal? Should I give Bellamy any
eye drops and if so how do you suggest I
do that because I suspect she's not
going to like it. I can't remember
ever having to give eye drops to a cat
so I'm not sure of the protocol.
What is Bellamy used to for sleeping, ie
cat bed, blanket? She had a rough
time last night, first hiding then
wandering and crying some. Nothing
seems to bother Arthur and he likes the
blanket we tried to give Bellamy so I
guess that's his now.
Let me know what you think
about the eyes. Thanks for driving
to meet us. It's snowing like
crazy at our house now so I'm glad we
decided on Friday night and Saturday.
Talk to you soon, Jean

CHURCH
Will forward some pictures soon. She
has gotten so big. Eats non stop. She
has also claimed the dog beds as her
own. Lays across them both. Has the
smaller dog beside herself as to where
she is going to curl up. She makes on
little shift and Mookie zips right in
there and then refuses to move all night
for fear of losing the spot again.
WEASELS STILL RULE
Harder and harder to tell these girls
apart by just looking..Have to observe
behavior .. Laura says she can tell them
apart but she's wrong a lot of the time.
Just put in a new kitchen floor and had
a lot of fuzzy-tail help. They get
really excited by a lot of new tools and
boxes of stuff to climb into. Jelly
still growls, slaps, and leaves the
room-- don't think they'll ever co-exist
in the same room or bed. we've
been snowed in Tues and Wed. Daughter
and her fiance came over today and snow-blowed
us out. Marion
MR RILEY
Hi, Suzanne,
I just wanted to give you an update on
Mr. Riley. I think that he has
finally gotten past his tummy issues!
He is eating regular Science Diet adult
now, and hasn't had any problems for
about 4 weeks. It looks like he
has either outgrown whatever was going
on or we have found the food that works
for him. He loves every food out
there, but this one seems to love him
back, so we're sticking with it!
He continues to be an incredible
sweetheart. We had some training
issues for a while there, but that's all
resolved now because I let him do
whatever he wants. He's adorable,
loving, and happy, which is exactly what
we wanted!
Thanks for all your support and advice!
Shirley
